WhatsApp Web Unveils New Redesigned Features and Chat Lock Option
In its continuous efforts to augment user experience, Meta is consistently updating WhatsApp for multiple platforms including mobile, tablet, desktop, and web. With the ‘Join Beta Program’ for web users in action, two new updates have now been dispatched for web beta users and are slated to reach all web users soon.
Fresh Updates: Redesigned Chat Share Sheet and Emoji Panel
As per Wabetainfo, a site monitoring WhatsApp’s growth, users can expect a revamped chat share sheet and an emoji panel. Currently, these features are available to some beta testers. Those who have joined the beta program of WhatsApp Web will have early access to these updates.
Revamped UI for Enhanced User Experience
Before the redesign, clicking on the emoji panel brought it up full screen. The chat share sheet also had a distinct display, both of which are undergoing transformation. In the new update, the emoji panel will appear on the side instead of occupying the entire screen, thereby improving the user experience.
Chat Lock Feature for Added Privacy
WhatsApp recently released the chat lock feature for Android users. This feature aids in hiding sensitive chats. Users need to enable the fingerprint option to use the chat lock. Post activation, the locked chat moves to a separate folder and its notifications will not appear, enhancing privacy.
