Heavy Penalties for Violations

Violating visa and ID rules in the United Arab Emirates could result in heavy fines. The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) has revealed that for violations of rules related to Emirates ID card services, residency, and foreign affairs services, a daily fine of Dhs20, equivalent to INR 451.14, will be imposed.

The ministry has warned that if an individual delays the registration of the ID card or does not renew it within 30 days of expiration, a fine will be imposed. Fines can reach up to Dhs20,000, which is equivalent to INR 5,629,532.48.

Fines Imposed on Violators

A fine of Dhs20 per day up to a maximum of Dhs1,000 could be imposed for delays in registering the ID card. Violations related to residency and foreign services could attract fines up to Dhs500. However, in some cases, provisions are made for violators to be exempted from fines, provided they meet certain necessary conditions. It’s advised to renew permits on time.
