GulfHindi English Desk: India’s eagerly awaited first Vande Metro train is facing delays. The Indian Railways had set a target to launch this train in December this year. However, due to some technical reasons, the train will now run in February next year.

The Vande Metro train is a smaller version of the famous semi-high speed Vande Bharat Express. Its purpose is to replace the existing 3000 passenger trains.

A senior railway official revealed that the design of the train will be finalized this month. The construction of the internal and external design of the train will begin in September. The trial run of the train will start in January, and the first Vande Metro train will be commercially operational in February 2024.

The Vande Metro trains will run four to five trips a day. They will operate at a maximum speed of 130 to 160 kilometers per hour. Compared to regular passenger trains, the Vande Metro trains will have a higher average speed, allowing daily rail commuters to complete their journeys in less time.

The train operates on self-propelled technology. Each set of three coaches has four motors, enabling the train to accelerate and decelerate quickly, thus increasing its average speed.
