This move comes as a relief to many passengers who often face difficulties in getting food and water during their train journeys. The service has been initiated from Jaipur Junction by the North Western Railway.
Passengers traveling in general coaches can now avail a complete meal for just 20 rupees. The meal includes 7 pooris, potato curry, and pickle. This service will also be extended to other stations apart from Jaipur Junction in the future.
According to DRM Narendra, passengers will be provided with 7 pooris (175 grams), dry potato curry (150 grams), and pickle (12 grams) in a paper box for 20 rupees. Additionally, passengers can opt for rajma or small rice, khichdi, kulcha chole, chole bhature, pav bhaji, or masala dosa for 50 rupees. A 200 ml sealed glass will also be provided at an additional cost of 3 rupees.
This new initiative aims to cater to the needs of budget-conscious passengers and ensure they have access to affordable and hygienic meals during their train journeys.
