In this direction, IIT Delhi will establish its campus in Abu Dhabi. The Ministry of Education and Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for this purpose. Prime Minister Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed are witnesses to this important agreement.

The arrival of the Master’s program at IIT Delhi’s Abu Dhabi campus will commence from January next year. Additionally, applications for admission to the graduation degree course will begin from September 2024. This will provide Indian students with an opportunity to acquire education and experience abroad.

Following IIT Delhi, IIT Madras has also announced the expansion of its campus in Tanzania. Last week, IIT Madras signed an MoU with the State University of Zanzibar in Tanzania to establish a campus. With this, India will have two IITs that are set to establish their campuses abroad.

Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan expressed his joy in a tweet regarding the signing of this agreement. He stated that the establishment of IIT Delhi’s campus in Abu Dhabi in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi marks the beginning of a new chapter of internationalization of Indian education. He further added that this MoU will be a new building block for the friendship between India and the United Arab Emirates, enabling cooperation and harnessing the power of knowledge for global development.
