Flydubai announced biggest new hiring drive.

Dubai’s popular airline, flydubai, plans to hire more than 1,000 new employees this year as part of its ongoing expansion. With a network covering over 110 destinations across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia, the carrier’s growth necessitates a bolstering of its diverse workforce.

Flydubai is looking to strengthen its departments across the board, with a total of 1,120 new recruits set to join the workforce this year. Since the start of the year, 320 new roles have been filled, and by the close of 2023, over 800 additional positions are expected to be taken up by a mix of pilots, cabin crew, engineers, and office-based employees.

Workforce diversity

The airline’s growth will mark a 24% increase in its workforce compared to the previous year, showcasing diversity with employees from as many as 136 different nationalities. According to a spokesperson, the airline’s workforce, currently standing at 4,918, is projected to reach 5,774 by year’s end. Notably, women constitute 36% of the airline’s staff.

Expats will also be hired.

Recruitment strategies include conducting interviews in the UAE, online, or in person during recruitment days held outside the UAE, depending on the roles on offer.

Largest recruitment drive

This hiring initiative represents the most substantial recruitment drive ever undertaken by the airline in a single year, achieved through detailed planning and the allure of Dubai and the UAE as desirable relocation destinations for top talent.

Expanding fleet

As of 2023, flydubai operates a fleet of 78 aircraft servicing an expanding network of 120 destinations. An additional 15 aircraft are expected to join the airline’s growing fleet by the end of this year.
