The decision by the pilot of an Indigo Airlines flight to divert the plane due to a technical issue emphasizes the crucial importance of passenger safety in aviation.
This flight, travelling from Guwahati to Dibrugarh, encountered a problem with one of its engines about 20 minutes into the flight. The plane was successfully diverted back to the Gopinath Bordoloi International airport in Guwahati for an emergency landing.
On board were over 150 passengers, including Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameshwar Teli, as well as two BJP MLAs, Prashant Phukan and Terash Gowala. Indigo Airlines has confirmed the safety of all passengers and has ensured they receive appropriate assistance.
