Pakistan’s national airline, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), is facing severe financial challenges amidst the country’s ongoing economic crisis. The cost of basic necessities in Pakistan has skyrocketed, putting immense pressure on the common people. Consequently, the Pakistani government is struggling to manage the country’s situation.
PIA is severely affected by this crisis. The airline doesn’t have sufficient funds to refuel its planes, leading to the cancellation of several flights. Moreover, the number of operational flights has been reduced.
Due to non-payment for fuel, Saudi Arabia and the UAE have halted the flights of Pakistani planes. However, the Pakistani administration has provided written assurance that they will soon resolve this issue.
Major aircraft manufacturers, Boeing and Airbus, have also refused to supply spare parts to PIA, as the airline has failed to make significant payments to these companies.
If this crisis is not resolved, PIA flights could be suspended until September 15th. At this juncture, it’s imperative for Pakistan to improve its economic situation to provide better services to its citizens.
