GulfHindi English Desk: The police in Gautam Buddha Nagar district seized around 3.5 quintals of cannabis from two cars on Monday and arrested a drug trafficker from Odisha. A senior police officer provided this information. The officer said that the accused was involved in trafficking cannabis from Andhra Pradesh to the National Capital Region (NCR). He also revealed that the accomplice of the arrested accused managed to escape. The police officials from the Noida Phase-2 police station and the Narcotics Control Unit of Gautam Buddha Nagar jointly took action based on a secret information. The search was conducted on two cars around 2:45 pm and approximately 345 kilograms of cannabis worth around 42 lakh rupees was recovered. The officer informed that a 28-year-old man named Indrajit Senapati, a resident of Mayurbhanj in Odisha, was arrested, while his accomplice Paritosh, a resident of West Bengal, managed to flee. Paritosh currently resides in Gejha village in Noida. The officer also said that the car used for the cannabis trafficking has been seized. Indrajit has been previously involved in several cases and has served time in jail. The officer further stated that the search for the fugitive accomplices of Indrajit is ongoing.
